Michael Kemp (that would be me) was born, raised, and still resides in western Oregon. There were years spent in other states, and some minor adventures abroad, but I always came back home to Oregon.
My love for physics was kindled, over half a century ago, by my high school physics teacher: Mr. Hawken. That led me to take physics classes in college, but my professional career was in computers.
Throughout my working years, my fascination with science and physics would not leave me alone, leading me to keep tabs on science news and trends. I’ve found it frustrating that “news” sources often put a misleading spin on science topics.
Once I retired, my wife and I got some long-overdue camping and national parks visits checked off the to-do list. But even in blissful retirement, the gap between how science actually works, and what regular folks think of science, kept nagging at me. By telling the story of science and gravity, I’ve tried to make science and gravity understandable.
I hope you enjoy my little book. And I hope it gets you thinking about our vast, awesome, and fantastical universe.
Keep Well!
